SUMMARY The 63rd running of the Healdsburg Time Trial was a moderate showing of 17 riders exerting some exceptionally solid efforts. It was a good day for personal speed. Brian Staby, the course record holder was out on the course this evening, setting the quickest pace. Though he did not manage a personal best, many other riders did. Kevin Buchholz, Randall Ray, Luis Garcia, Rich Desmond, Anthony Arzate and Laurel Green -- more than a third of all riders -- found a faster path around the oval. First times out for Jeremy Gotelli and Melissa Patten. Welcome to the course, friends. Father-son pair Jack and Mr. Greg Yaeger did a lap together, and Brentley Campbell cheered his dad Tim Campbell's attack on the 30 minute barrier. Brentley will be up against national class competition tomorrow. We wish him luck, fire and a fine time. Rich Desmond found his way around the course this Friday Night but managed to drop his chain out there still. He dug deep though and offered enough to finish third fastest, sharing the same finishing time with Kevin Buchholz -- just 20 seconds south of Alex Brookhouse at second. |
