SUMMARY The second SMTT was a relative success, only by virtue of the fact that SMTT #1 is a null entry; nobody showed except Joe. The lineup today: Newcomer Honza Ripa, Matt Ehlers, Randall Ray. Matt and Kimberly rode up from SR this chilly morning. Kimberly graciously ran the clock and Matt was on the starting line before his HR could return to resting state. I started the preview run alone, but found lots of company along the whole course. I would guess that I came across 50 individuals, either on a bike or walking. I think I spotted Janice Eunice at the front of a good sized SRCC peleton on Dry Creek, but I\'m not really sure since I found myself doing my warmup lap at somewhere around 90%. Oops! Definitely, there were more bikes and pedestrians than there were cars in Dry Creek Valley at 9:00 AM. By start time the wind had picked up a bit, but was pretty much insignificant. Besides the chilly temps, it was a simply beautiful day to get small and make your muscles scream for half an hour. |
