SUMMARY Friday's time trial went well. Winds were not in our favor, but we still saw some good runs among the 15 participants. We saw a new tandem course record set by the father-son duo of Peter Potrebic and 7-year-old (almost 8) Jake. They ran the course in an impressive 35:55, averaging well over 18 MPH. Adrienne Ruggles, back from crewing for RAAM and sporting her shiny new recumbent rig, nabbed what I believe to be the last freebie course record, unless somebody actually does come out on a unicycle. Jeremy and Mary once again shared childcare duties, with Mary running first, and after everybody had gone home, Jeremy threw down a remarkable run, averaging over 22 MPH even with a flat front tire for the last quarter mile. Besides Jake and Adrienne, Brian Bozeman came out for the first time, having heard about the TT only 30 minutes prior at a Santa Rosa LBS. He did a pretty good run in spite of the short notice. Other returning riders were Randall, Joe, Kimberly and Matt, Yvonne, Jose, Paul Stimson, and Jeff. It's great to see such a great mix of riders out there, from racer-types to the just-curious, to families sharing a fun outdoor experience. See you out there this Friday! Randall |
